I got the 40lbs vest and its wearable and comfortable BUT very very hard your shoulders. Even with the gel pads still very hard on the neck/shoulder area.. Went down to 30lbs and was better but not much... 20lbs was fine with the gel pads even better... Just needs more area between the neck and shoulders to spread the weight around and pad that area
