I am learning to snowboard and bought a different pair of padded shorts made for ice skaters. It worked pretty well until the softer snow got a lot more icy so I searched for another pair. I wore these recently in snow that had both ice and some soft snow so I felt in both. It is significantly better than the one I originally bought. The stitching and quality is so good. I am super happy and will buy the same for my sons when they learn to snowboard. One note, you can adjust the waist which is really nice. Especially after you eat tacos, it's nice to loosen up the shorts. Lol
